Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh (24th Oct'18):  Launching a scathing attack on the statement of ex-Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal regarding Israel visit of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, senior Congress leader and cabinet minister Punjab S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has today said that where was the former CM when bargari sacrilege incident took place. He also said that how can the Badal father-son duo raise an accusing finger on the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh when they themselves didn't step out of their homes in Chandigarh for a full one month during the sacrilege incident.

S. Randhawa further said that the Chief Minister had reached New Delhi for proceeding towards Israel but on knowing about the Amritsar train tragedy reached Amritsar the very next morning and enquired after the well being of the injured besides deputing the senior officers, taking stock of the situation and personally assuming command of the relief & rehabilitation works. It was only after the crisis management group of the cabinet ministers formed by the Chief Minister assured the latter of the full situation under control that he proceeded to Israel. Even from Israel, the Chief Minister is keeping an eye on the relief works through video conferencing.

The Congress leader also said that the ex CM and ex Deputy CM have no ethical right to question Israel visit of Captain Amarinder Singh because the father-son duo didn't took any concrete action during bargari incident instead they ordered firing on the innocent Sikhs through police. He also divulged that the Israel visit of the Chief Minister was scheduled long ago where the latter had to ink important agreements with the Israeli President apart from meeting higher officials which was unavoidable.

Detailing more, S. Randhawa said that during the Israel visit uncountable avenues for the development of Punjab have been opened in the Agriculture, Conservation of the Water Resources, Irrigation, Agricultural Research, Education, Solid Waste Management of the cities and Homeland Security sectors. The Chief Minister signed many significant MoUs during the visit which assume great importance in terms of crop diversification and preservation of the dwindling water resources.

He also disclosed that Israel renders 90 percent of water re-usable through state of the art technique which can also be emulated by Punjab. It is worth mentioning that during this visit which proved to be a milestone from point of all round development of Punjab, the Chief Minister also separately met President of Israel Mr. Reuven Rivlin, Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, Energy and Water Resources Minister Dr. Yuval Stenitz and the officers of the National Water Company of Israel namely Mekoret.

The Chief Minister also held discussions centred on exploring investment opportunities in the Energy, Water, Affordable Housing, Schools and the Hospitals. The Chief Minister also visited Dan Region Waste Water Treatment Plant (Saddam) which is an inter regional system which gathers municipal waste in the densely populated urban areas as well as the industrial zones and makes it fit for re-use after purifying. It is the biggest waste water treatment plant in Israel.
