Amritsar, July 23: Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Amritsar Rural Police conducted two separate operations—one of which was a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF Punjab)—resulting in the seizure of eight illegal firearms from four individuals allegedly involved in trans-border arms trafficking.
The recovered weapons include five pistols of .30 caliber and three pistols of 9mm caliber, along with their respective magazines.
FIRs have been registered at Police Station Gharinda, Amritsar, and further investigation is ongoing to uncover the broader network and linkages associated with this illegal activity.
The Punjab Police stated that it remains committed to combating organized crime and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
