Mohali Building Collapse Latest News Today: A multi-storey building in Mohali, Punjab, collapsed on Saturday, leaving several people feared trapped under the debris, according to police officials.
Rescue operations were immediately launched by the district administration. Two excavators and a team from the fire department are actively working at the site to clear the rubble and search for survivors.
Eyewitnesses reported a loud crash when the building came down. Initial investigations suggest the collapse might be linked to excavation work for a basement in a nearby area.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek, who is overseeing the rescue efforts, confirmed the involvement of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). “We are conducting a thorough operation. At this stage, we don’t know how many people are trapped. Teams from the NDRF, police, and fire department are working together. The cause of the collapse will be thoroughly examined,” Pareek said.
