Mohali Building Collapse Latest News Today: A multi-storey building in Mohali, Punjab, collapsed on Saturday, leaving several people feared trapped under the debris, according to police officials.

Eyewitnesses reported a loud crash when the building came down. Initial investigations suggest the collapse might be linked to excavation work for a basement in a nearby area.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek, who is overseeing the rescue efforts, confirmed the involvement of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). “We are conducting a thorough operation. At this stage, we don’t know how many people are trapped. Teams from the NDRF, police, and fire department are working together. The cause of the collapse will be thoroughly examined,” Pareek said.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his concern and assured all necessary assistance. “Sad news has been received about the collapse of a multi-storey building near Sohana in Mohali. Rescue teams and the administration are on-site. I am in constant communication with officials to monitor the situation,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
