Punjab Haryana Heatwave Warning, Weather Update Latest News Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for Punjab and Haryana, warning of soaring temperatures ranging between 44°C and 46°C in the southern parts of both states from May 21 to 23.

According to IMD data, maximum temperatures in the southern and southwestern parts of Haryana and southern Punjab are already hovering around 45-46°C. Meanwhile, in northern regions including Chandigarh and central Punjab, the mercury is fluctuating between 40°C and 42°C.

The Met department forecasts that there will be no major change in temperature for the next 48 hours. A slight dip of 2-3°C is expected thereafter. However, until then, residents are likely to experience intense heat, particularly in districts like Hisar, Bhiwani, Bathinda, and Fazilka.

Adding to the discomfort, warm night conditions are also expected in several areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on May 21 and 22, with some locations continuing to experience the same on May 23.

Authorities have advised people to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours to minimize the risk of heat-related illnesses.
