AGTF of the Punjab Police arrested Sukhchain Singh alias Bhujia: One weapon recovered latets news: As part of an ongoing effort to make Punjab safe and secure, as guided by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Punjab Police arrested Sukhchain Singh alias Bhujia, an associate of foreign terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike. This was disclosed by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Thursday.

Sukhchain Singh, a village resident of Matti in Mansa, was nabbed by police units headed by ADGP AGTF Promod Ban from the Bhikhi area in Mansa. The police recovered a .32 caliber pistol and five cartridges during the raid from Sukhchain's possession.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said Sukhchain Singh was wanted in a recent attempted murder case in Bhikhi and has criminal cases against him, including under the Arms Act and NDPS Act. Initial investigations have found that Sukhchain Singh had planned to attack members of a rival gang.

AIG AGTF Sandeep Goel said that investigations are continuing to make connections in this case and more arrests are likely to be made in the next few days.

An FIR (First Information Report) No. 22, dated 10 February 2025, has been registered under sections 125, 191(3), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act at Police Station Bhikhi in Mansa.
