2 killed and several injured in road accident in Punjab

Two persons were killed and several others were injured in a road accident in Amritsar during the past 24 hours.

In the first incident, an unidentified mini-truck driver hit a motorcyclist. The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Singh. According to information, Balwinder Singh died on the spot while the mini-truck driver fled. The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver.

Meanwhile, in a head-on collusion between two mini buses, a passenger was killed in Jandiala. The deceased has been identified as Gurvinder Singh (50) of Taran Tarn. The bus drivers were reportedly driving their buses rashly and met with the accident.

Meanwhile, the police have booked bus drivers of both the buses. The accused have been identified as Paramjit Singh and Pardeep Singh.

Similarly, a bus of the central jail also met with an accident yesterday. Three cops and one jail inmate were injured in the accident. A truck driver hit the jail bus from the front side. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot. The police has registered a case regarding the same.

In another incident two cars collided in which the car occupants got minor injuries in the accident. The foggy weather conditions are reason behind the rise in the number of accidents on city roads.
