SGPC Withdraws Giani Harpreet Singh's Services as Jathedar

In the interim, SGPC has assigned the Chief Granthi of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to oversee the duties of the position.

Giani Harpreet Singh Controversy: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has officially withdrawn the services of Giani Harpreet Singh as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. Following the decision, Harpreet Singh has vacated the official residence, returned the designated vehicle, and relieved the staff assigned to him.

The SGPC's move comes amidst ongoing controversies and a formal investigation into allegations leveled against Giani Harpreet Singh. A three-member committee constituted to examine the complaints, is set to submit its report within 15 days.

In the interim, the SGPC has assigned the Chief Granthi of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to oversee the duties of the position.

After the announcement, Giani Harpreet Singh promptly left the official premises and returned all SGPC-provided resources. Sources close to the matter indicated that he expressed willingness to cooperate with the ongoing investigation and emphasized his commitment to upholding the sanctity of the Sikh faith.
