New clause will be added to the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925: CM Mann

CHANDIGARH: In a significant development, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has unveiled plans to emancipate the sacred Gurbani from what he referred to as "modern masands." Addressing the public, CM Mann revealed that a new clause will be added to the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925, enabling the free broadcasting of Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) for all devotees.

Highlighting the demand from countless devotees, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized the importance of making Gurbani accessible to everyone without any financial barriers. As per his announcement, the proposed amendment will eliminate the need for tenders, ensuring the unrestricted broadcast of Gurbani without any costs involved.

Notably, This Decision aims to ensure that the spiritual teachings encapsulated in Gurbani reach a wider audience, transcending any restrictions or monetary obligations. The move represents a significant step towards safeguarding the sanctity of Gurbani and restoring its true essence, unburdened by commercial interests.

The proposal is set to be presented before the Cabinet for deliberation tomorrow, with the subsequent plan for its introduction in the Legislative Assembly on June 20.  The decision has garnered widespread praise and support from devotees across the country, who believe that this step will not only uphold the principles of equality and inclusivity but also reinforce the core values of Sikhism. 

CM Bhagwant Mann said that he aims to liberate Gurbani from the influence of modern 'masands'. This seeks to ensure that the spiritual teachings of Sikhism remain pure, accessible, and widely disseminated. This progressive move signifies a renewed commitment to preserve the heritage of Sikhism.
