What is the SGPC vs Dhruv Rathee Controversy Over the Misrepresentation of Sikh History Via AI? The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has come out strongly against popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, accusing him of distorting Sikh history in a recent video using AI-generated visuals and narration.

The SGPC's General Secretary, Gurcharan Singh Grewal, criticized Rathee for allegedly spreading misinformation and failing to treat the Sikh Gurus with the proper reverence.

Grewal specifically pointed out inaccuracies in the video regarding the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the legacy of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. He also condemned the casual use of Guru Sahib’s name without honorifics, calling it deeply disrespectful to Sikh sentiments.

“The Sikh community does not need Dhruv Rathee’s artificial intelligence to narrate our sacred history,” Grewal said. “His video misrepresents key events and disrespects the memory of our revered Gurus.”

The SGPC has urged the government to take strict action against Rathee and called for regulations on AI-driven historical content, especially when dealing with sensitive religious matters.

Grewal added that such misinformed storytelling could mislead younger audiences and those unfamiliar with the Sikh faith, potentially fueling misinformation and hurting religious sentiments.
