In a significant counter-espionage breakthrough, the Gurdaspur Police has apprehended two individuals for allegedly leaking sensitive military information to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The arrests come as part of a swift operation based on credible intelligence inputs received earlier this week.
The two accused—identified as Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh—are suspected of sharing classified details related to Operation Sindoor, including information on troop movements and strategic locations across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Acting on the intelligence alert, the police launched a targeted operation, resulting in the arrest of both individuals. A forensic analysis of their mobile phones has confirmed the transmission of sensitive military data. Police recovered three mobile phones and eight live cartridges of .30 bore ammunition from their possession.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the duo was in direct contact with ISI handlers and had relayed critical defense information, potentially compromising national security. A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at Police Station Dorangala.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and have indicated that further arrests or disclosures are possible as the probe expands.
