Chandigarh: After the end of curfew in Punjab and relief during Lockdown 4.0, it was reported that the Transport Department has given the green signal to start bus service on selected routes in the state.
PhotoMeanwhile, government bus service would start from May 20 on about 50 routes in Punjab. Under the first phase, public buses will be allowed to run on these routes after every half an hour.
Transport Minister Razia Sultana has issued instructions to restore bus service in the state. Punjab Roadways, Punbus and PRTC have started preparations to start buses from May 20. A notification has been issued by the Chief Secretary, Transport Department, Punjab regarding this.

Rickshaws and autos that are properly registered and pay regular taxes can be operated with one driver and two passengers. Two-wheelers and cyclists are allowed to ride alone, but two-wheelers allow couples to ride with their young children.
