Central Government Announces Landmark Promotion for Chandigarh DGP and IPS Officer Pankaj Saxena

Chandigarh News: In a significant development, the Central Government has announced the promotion of Chandigarh's Director General of Police (DGP), Praveen Ranjan, to the prestigious level-16 pay scale. This noteworthy decision was finalized during a screening committee meeting held on December 27, 2022, underscoring DGP Ranjan's commendable service and dedication to his role.

DGP Praveen Ranjan, a seasoned Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1993 batch, has been at the helm of law enforcement in Chandigarh for the past two years.

In parallel, IPS officer Pankaj Saxena, belonging to the 1992 batch, has also been accorded a significant promotion by the central government. Currently serving in a key position within the central government, Saxena's elevation to the level-16 pay scale aligns with the scale of DGP Praveen Ranjan, marking one of the most substantial promotions at the DGP level.
