Jagjit Singh Dallewal Hunger Strike Latest News Today: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast to death at the Khanauri border has reached its 20th day, with his health showing severe signs of deterioration. Doctors monitoring his condition have reported a weight loss of over 12 kg and expressed concerns about potential liver damage due to prolonged starvation.

Dallewal remains steadfast in his commitment, stating, “The lives of farmers committing suicide are more valuable than mine,” as he continues to rally for farmers’ rights under the Delhi Movement 2.0. The protest, which has now lasted 306 days, revolves around 13 demands, including a legal guarantee for the minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

The farmers, who have been stationed at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders for the past 10 months, plan to intensify their agitation. Sarwan Pandher, another farmer leader, announced that tractor marches will be held across India on December 16, excluding Punjab, followed by a rail blockade in Punjab on December 18 between 12 and 3 pm. No groups will march towards Delhi until after December 18.

Earlier attempts by 101 farmers under the banner of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha to march to Delhi on December 6, 8, and 14 were thwarted by authorities. On December 14, police used tear gas and water cannons at the Shambhu border to disperse the group attempting to breach barricades on the Ghaggar river bridge. The confrontation resulted in injuries to at least 17 to 18 farmers.
