ED raids Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kulwant Singh‘s residence, Latest News:
On April 15, 2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kulwant Singh, as reported by Babushahi. The raid is linked to the ongoing investigation into the high-profile Pearls Agrotech Corporation Limited (PACL) scam.
Singh is reported to be Punjab's wealthiest MLA, with assets valued at approximately Rs 1,000 crore. He is also a prominent builder in Mohali.
The raid is part of a money laundering investigation connected to the PACL case, where the company's directors are accused of misappropriating funds from investors. Parallel searches were conducted at other locations linked to Singh across Punjab, according to a report published in News Arena.
The PACL directors are accused of transferring large sums of the funds they raised from investors into shell companies. These shell companies were set up in multiple locations, often with fictitious operations, to hide the flow of money and make it difficult for authorities to trace the funds.
The PACL scam was a multi-layered fraud involving complex financial maneuvers, including the use of shell companies, cash withdrawals, and hawala channels to transfer funds abroad. The ongoing investigations by the ED and other agencies aim to track down these assets and ensure accountability.
