Punjab govt is committed to provide financial assistance to needy people
PATTI (Darshan Singh Sandhu): The Punjab government is committed to provide financial assistance to people who have gone through any terrific happening in their life. Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has distributed cheques worth Rs. 6 lakh to the disabled persons and widow women who have faced any happening during agricultural activities at Naushehra Pannuan.
Among the beneficiaries, Rs 2 lakhs cheque was handed over to Rupinder Kaur wife Ranjit Singh and Surjit Kaur wife Jarnail Singh. Their husbands lost their lives due to electrocution from the starter.
A cheque of Rs 60,000 was given to Sarabjit Singh son of Joga Singh due to being crippled by electric current from the starter, and a cheque of Rs 40,000 was given to Gurtajbir Singh son of Kundan Singh after his arm was cut off in the chopper. Saudagar Singh, son of Dayal Singh, was given a cheque of Rs 40,000. Dayal Singh's four fingers were cut off due to getting stuck in a chopper. Various other beneficiaries availed the assistance of the government.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that God forbid that such an accident should not happen to anyone. May all lives be safe and no one should need such money, but the Punjab government is serious towards the families of those have faced any terrific happening. He said that cheques of Rs 6 lakh sent to them for the financial assistance of needy people by the Chief Minister have been distributed among these families today.
