Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Urges Punjabi Diaspora in Seoul to Act as Ambassadors for Investment in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during his visit to Seoul, South Korea, urged the Punjabi diaspora to act as ambassadors of the state and encourage Korean companies to invest in Punjab. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Mann said Punjab has emerged as one of the most preferred investment destinations globally due to its investor-friendly policies.
Addressing an interactive session with the diaspora, Mann said that because of the industrial-friendly initiatives undertaken by his government, investors are making a “beeline” to invest in Punjab. He urged Punjabis in Seoul to help promote the state as its brand ambassadors.
The chief minister added that Punjabi is a born entrepreneur and that everyone must make efforts to place the state on a high orbit of industrial growth,” he said. The AAP leader made an emotional appeal to the community, stating that the government has created a conducive environment for industries and now it was their turn to “serve their motherland,” which would also generate employment for youth.
The Chief Minister said it was a matter of pride that Punjabis have established themselves as global citizens, known for their hard work, innovation and energy. He praised the diaspora for strengthening cultural, people-to-people, and business-to-business ties worldwide.
Mann reiterated his vision of making Punjab a preferred destination for global industry by ensuring policy stability, fast decision-making, and a governance system that values investors’ time and trust. He said his government is working in partnership with industry, functioning as an enabler of growth.
The CM also highlighted the state’s governance and regulatory reforms, including the FastTrack Punjab single-window system offering 173 services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act that ensure time-bound in-principle clearances. He noted that over rupees 1.4 lakh crore worth of on-ground investments have already been facilitated through Invest Punjab.
He added that Punjab has strengthened its infrastructure, expanded industrial capacity, and opened new avenues for investment. “A strong partnership between government and industry is key to success,” Mann said.
