"I have never taken money from anyone till date"- EX-CM Channi
Mohali: Former Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi appeared before Punjab Vigilance bureau today in connection with the Disappropriate assets case. However, before the appearance, the former chief minister has raised many questions on the Punjab government of the Aam Aadmi Party. Before the appearance, Channi held a press conference in Chandigarh . He said that "Vigilance called me on April 20 but today, on the day of holiday, opened the office specially and asked me to appear."
He said, "I will visit the vigilance office alone. They can do whatever they want to do with me. They can arrest me or kill me. I am ready for everything. Punjab government can order for my arrest today. But, I am getting the strength to bear the oppression of the honorable government from my Guru and the great Sahibzadas of Chamkaur Sahib."
Channi said that CM Bhagwant Mann said that he has sold 8-10 forts of his land in the elections. Today, they have no land. He has invested his land for the service of the people. He further said, "CM Bhagwant Mann had said that I belong to a royal family and I have property worth Rs 170 crores. This is not the truth, i have no property except a house, office and a shop. Apart from this, if i have any property, i will owe it to the Punjab government or Gurdwara Sahib. Getting emotional, Channi said, "I have never taken money from anyone till date and I am being harassed deliberately."
