Voting for the by-elections will be held on May 10

JALANDHAR: Congress candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary has submitted her nomination Jalandhar forms for the KLok Sabha by-election. Senior Congress leaders Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Partap Singh Bajwa, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Charanjit Singh Channi were present at the spot.

Notably, voting for the Lok Sabha by-election will be held on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13. Bharatiya Janata Party has announced Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal as its candidate for the by-elections to be held in Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. Inder Iqbal Atwal's father Charanjit Singh Atwal contested the Lok Sabha elections from Jalandhar in 2019 and lost to Chaudhary Santokh Singh of Congress by 19,000 votes.

Notably, In January 2023, Congress MP from Jalandhar, Santokh Singh Chaudhary, passed away during Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded former MLA Sushil Kumar Rinku for the by-elections.
