First Woman Judge of the High Court Passes Away

She retired from the High Court in November 1994

CHANDIGARH: Justice HK Sandhu (90), the first woman judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, passed away. She breathed her last at night. 

She had joined the PCS Judicial Services in United Punjab and became the first woman judicial officer. Serving as a District and Sessions Judge in Chandigarh, she was elevated to the High Court in March 1991. She retired from the High Court in November 1994 after attaining the age of superannuation.
