The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday wrote a letter to the speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha requesting him to permit live telecast of Vidhan Sabha

Chandigarh, February 13: The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday wrote a letter to the speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha requesting him to permit live telecast of Vidhan Sabha during ongoing Budget Session from 12th Feb to 21st Feb 2019. Referring to the case tiltled 'Aman Arora v/s Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha' Arora said that the court had disposed the matter saying that the Speaker should decide on telecasting proceeding of Vidhan Sabha in whole and not in bits and pieces.

Arora said that the live telecast of the Vidhan Sabha proceedings will improve the functioning of the assembly and will bring transparency. He also requested to allow the live telecast the entire session instead of artibrarily certain pre-chosen parts of the same. Arora said that he will move to the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court in case the request for same is denied.
