Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh (12th Oct'18): The Government agencies and private millers have procured 536892 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 11. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 536892 MT of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 511282 MT of paddy while 25610 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 153400 tonnes, MARKFED procured 132902 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 108409 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 49868 and 61072 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 5631 MT paddy.
