FIR on Harpal Cheema, Aman Arora by Partap Singh Bajwa Latest News Today: A political storm has erupted in Punjab after an FIR was registered against Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Aman Arora under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 336(4), 356, and 61(2). The complaint was filed by Leader of Opposition (LOP) Partap Singh Bajwa, who accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of circulating a doctored video misrepresenting his remarks.

Bajwa alleges that the manipulated video falsely portrayed him as defending senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, when in reality, he was criticizing the Punjab Vigilance Bureau's alleged misconduct against a female Congress MLA. Calling it a “deliberate attempt to mislead the public,” Bajwa demanded strict action against those responsible for spreading the misleading clip.

“This is not just a political attack — it’s character assassination. I want to make it very clear: action will be taken against those who played and promoted this fake video,” Bajwa stated, issuing a stern warning.

Responding to the FIR, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema appeared unfazed. “This FIR is very welcome,” Cheema said, adding, “It exposes how the Congress party takes a U-turn in every case. One day they make statements, the next day they run to the police.”

Cheema further alleged that Bajwa was working hand-in-glove with the BJP. “This is a false case registered with the help of the Centre. Bajwa’s deep ties with the BJP are no secret now,” he claimed, fueling an already heated political environment in the state.

AAP leaders have denied any wrongdoing and maintain that the video circulated was not manipulated. However, the matter is now under legal scrutiny, and political observers believe it could have wider ramifications in the run-up to the next election cycle.

As investigations unfold, all eyes are on how the state machinery handles the case that has pitted top leaders from ruling and opposition camps against each other in a fierce war of words.
