Weather Dept Foresees Western Disturbance Bringing Further Changes from Saturday Onwards

CHANDIGARH: The Recent bout of rain that graced Monday-Tuesday nights across Punjab has resulted in a notable drop in temperatures throughout the region. On average, the minimum temperatures in Punjab have plummeted by 3.3 degrees, a change attributed to the late-night rainfall. Although the skies are anticipated to remain clear and temperatures normal for the next four days, the upcoming weekend could witness the influence of another Western Disturbance, introducing alterations to the prevailing weather conditions.

Data provided by the Meteorological Department highlights widespread rain across various cities during the previous night. Over the last 24 hours, precipitation levels were measured at 23.3mm in Patiala, 17.6mm in Amritsar, 19mm in Fatehgarh Sahib, 12.5mm in Gurdaspur, and 16.5mm in Jalandhar. Additionally, the lowest temperature was recorded in Amritsar at 18.3 degrees Celsius. Most cities reported temperatures below the 20-degree mark on Tuesday morning.

Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department predicts a change in weather patterns starting from Saturday due to the influence of a Western Disturbance. Anticipated for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, these disturbances are expected to bring rainfall over the mentioned days, consequently further lowering the temperature. This trend of temperature drop is predicted to continue beyond Saturday, requiring residents to brace for a cooler climate in the days to come.
