Punjab Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow & Orange Alerts, Warning Bad Weather Conditions Latest News: An orange and a yellow alert is in place for several districts of Punjab, issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh in its nowcast, warning of light to moderate rain, accompanied by light thunderstorms with maximum wind speed of less than 40 kmph, on Thursday.
The nowcast is valid up to 9 PM today.
The districts under the orange alert are Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Nawashahr.
The districts under the yellow alert are Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Ludhiana, Moga, and Firozpur.
No alerts have been issued for the remaining districts of the state in the nowcast for today, as per the latest updates.
Punjab Weather warning forecast August 10:
In the forecast for today, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupanagar, and Gurdaspur have been warned of heavy rain. The four districts have also been warned of thunderstorms, lightning, squall, and more adverse weather conditions.
The yellow alert warning of the same adverse conditions remains in place for tomorrow as well for the four districts in the state, except Gurdaspur.
No alerts have been issued for Gurdaspur on August 11. Meanwhile, SAS Nagar is placed under the yellow alert for August 11.
