Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur Sunil Jakhar today exposed the Union government led by Prime Minister Narinder Modi on the issue of Rafale deal scam on the floor of Lok Sabha with facts and figures while speaking on The Indian Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2018 in the Parliament today. Mr. Sunil Jakhar said in Lok Sabha that the defense deal agreements signed by Modi government are shady.

He said that earlier Govt of India decided to buy 126 Rafale fighter planes from France while later on Modi Government inked a new agreement to purchase only 36 fighter aircrafts in same amount. “This is not only the loot of country's treasury but also it is threat to security concerns of the country," he added. Mr. Sunil Jakhar raised this issue in the Lok Sabha strongly on last day of session and said that the Prime Minister had gone to Paris on April 10, 2015 for this agreement, but only a few days ago, a company was registered on March 25, 2015 in Mumbai and same was included in this agreement, which had no experience to build a fighter aircrafts at all.

Rafale deal

Mr. Jakhar said that it was also a violation of the Official Secrecy Act as how did an entrepreneur know in Mumbai that a few days later the Prime Minister is going to Paris to ink an agreement regarding defence deal with another country. Describing this as the biggest defence deal scam in the history of the country, he said that the so-called honesty of the Modi government is now unfolded and that the Rafale fighter deal will prove to be the last nail in coffin of Modi Government.

Later in the conversation, Sunil Jakhar said that the Union Government was cheating the people of the country by not disclosing the amount paid to purchase these 36 planes from France. He said that Congress party would not be silent after exposing this scam of BJP Government, but party will go to people to expose the truth of Modi Government before next general election.
