Orders registration of F.I.R. against Panchayat secretary suspended by department

On the instructions of the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Punjab, Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, the Panchayat Secretary of the Panchayat Samiti Machhiwara Amrik Singh has been suspended over the matter of failing to hand over record of Village Behlolpur, Panchayat of block machhiwara. Not only this, the headoffice has written to the District Development and Panchayat Oficer, Ludhiana to get an F.I.R. registered against the said Panchayat Secretary.

It is notable that the suspended Panchayat secretary didn't hand over the record of many previous years. The people of the village had complained against the Panchayat Secretary to the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister. It is also worthwhile to mention that as per the orders of the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, the senior officers of the department had issued written instructions to all the District Development Officers, Deputy Executive Officers and Block Development Officers that the Panchayat secretaries in case of being transferred to the another block would make sure that the record is handed over to the next incumbent. Inspite of the orders, many Panchayat secretaries are not complying with these orders to hand over records.

Headoffice has written to get an F.I.R. registered against the Panchayat Secretary

Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has once again directed the senior officers of the department to ensure that the Panchayat Secretaries hand over their entire record to the new incumbent in case of a transfer. Failing to comply with this instruction of handing over of record of gram Panchayat by concerned Panchayat Secretary must result in the disciplinary action as well as the registration of a criminal case against the erring Panchayat Secretary.
