Jalandhar Police Arrests Youth with Arms & Ammunition

A Case has been registered against the youth in the Police Station

JALANDHAR: The Punjab police has arrested a youth from near Gazi Gulla Chowk in Jalandhar district. One pistol and six live cartridges have been recovered from his possession. 

The youth has been identified as Rohit, a resident of TV Center Nakodar Chowk, Jalandhar. Police station in-charge Gurpreet Singh said that SI Gurnam Singh of his team was present near Gazi Gulla Chowk during the patrol along with the police party. They suspected a young man who was coming from under bridge under bridge. The youth was scared to see the police. He immediately turned around and tried to escape but was caught by the police.

The Police station in-charge said that a case under the Arms Act has been registered against the arrested youth Rohit on the charge of possession of illegal weapons. Rohit will be produced in court and remanded. During the interrogation, an attempt will be made to find out from where he brought the weapon.
