The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued orders for her Appointment.

CHANDIGARH: Kanwardeep Kaur, a 2013 batch IPC officer of Punjab cadre, has assumed the charge as the new SSP of Chandigarh. She took over the post of SSP at the Police Headquarters located in Sector-9 and held a meeting with the officers. Recently, She has been appointed as the new SSP of Chandigarh. The post was lying vacant after former SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal was removed with immediate effect on December 12.

After the removal of former SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP (Traffic) Manisha Chowdhary was also looking after the work of Chandigarh SSP. IPS Kanwardeep Kaur has now taken this charge from her.

Kanwardeep Kaur was earlier the SSP of Ferozepur district. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued orders for her appointment. She will serve for 3 years in Chandigarh. Prior to this, Nilambari Vijay Jagdale, a 2008 batch woman IPS officer of Punjab cadre, was posted as SSP in Chandigarh from 2017 to 2020.
