CM Mann’s Japan Visit: Leading Japanese Companies Attend CM’s Roadshow in Osaka

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday held a roadshow in Osaka, Japan, which received a strong response from leading Japanese companies. According to a press release from his office, several major firms attended the event and expressed keen interest in investing in Punjab as the state emerges as one of the most preferred investment destinations globally due to its investor-friendly policies.

Addressing the gathering, CM Mann said that the participation of industrial giants reflects “strong institutional support for strengthening Indo-Japan economic ties.”

He added that it also demonstrates the growing interest of global investors in Punjab’s progressive industrial policies, unified single-window system, and investment-ready opportunities. Mann said the state government’s goal is to create new opportunities for the youth and provide a stable, reliable environment for investors.

The roadshow was held on the fourth day of his visit to Japan.

‘Strong Ties with Japanese Industry; Punjab Most Preferred Investment Destination’

Recalling Punjab’s long-standing association with Japanese industry, CM Mann said the relationship is already “strong and growing,” noting that several well-known Japanese companies have placed their trust in Punjab.

The Chief Minister attributed Punjab’s emergence as a preferred global investment destination to his government’s “strenuous efforts.”

He highlighted the state’s strategic location, seamless connectivity to the NCR and major ports, strong industrial clusters, uninterrupted quality power supply, skilled workforce, and progressive policy ecosystem.

The Chief Minister also showcased the state’s governance and regulatory reforms, including the FastTrack Punjab single-window system offering 173+ G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act enabling time-bound in-principle approvals.

He also highlighted Punjab’s industrial infrastructure, noting that over rupees 1.4 lakh crore of on-ground investments have already been facilitated through ‘Invest Punjab’.

Mann said his vision is “simple and clear  to make Punjab a preferred destination for global industry by offering stability in policy, speed in decision-making, and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors.”

He added that Punjab’s approach is based on partnership, working closely with industry, understanding their needs, and ensuring the government acts as a ‘catalyst’ for growth. Mann said the state has strengthened its infrastructure, expanded industrial capacity, and opened new avenues for investment. He emphasized that government-industry partnership is key to success.

The Chief Minister said this philosophy guides the state’s ‘New Industrial Policy’ introduced in 2022, which was shaped in consultation with industry leaders and stakeholders. He added that the government has created 24 sectoral committees chaired by captains of industry to formulate sector-specific policies. Such initiatives, he said, help create greater visibility for Punjab in North India by sharing its success stories and long-term vision as the state invites potential investors to be part of its growth story leading up to 2035.

High-Level Meetings in Osaka

According to the press release, CM Mann also held a series of high-level meetings in Osaka, including discussions with Air Water Inc. on opportunities in industrial gases and engineering solutions.

He also met officials from the Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) to explore collaboration in trade, technology, and SMEs collaboration. Additionally, he held discussions with Tokushima Auction Market and Global Venture Co., Ltd. on agri-market modernization and supply-chain partnerships.

Mann said it was encouraging that the Osaka Business Roadshow and Reception were well-attended, with senior Japanese dignitaries present, including the Director General of JETRO, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Commerce, Industry & Labor of the Osaka Prefectural Government, and the Director General of the International Affairs Department, METI Kansai, among others.

Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026

The Chief Minister also invited investors to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled for March 13–15, 2026, at the Indian School of Business, Mohali, to encourage deeper engagement and expanded investments.

Mann said the summit will showcase Punjab’s progress, bring together leading industrial players, and present new opportunities for partnership and collaboration. He expressed hope that Japanese investors will join the summit and help further accelerate the state’s industrial development.
