GARHSHANKAR: The long-standing demand of the people of Garhshankar for water has been fulfilled today. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone of the Chitti Bein project at village Simbli in Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur. Meanwhile, along with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal was also present at the occasion.

Taking to Twitter, CM Bhagwant Mann shared pictures and wrote, "The foundation stone of the Chitti Bein project was laid at village Simbli in Garhshankar... The long-term demand of the people for water was met today... It is surprising that the name of the state is based on water, the people there still yearn for water. We will make sure that no village of Punjab will be deprived of water...".

Rajya Sabha member Balbir Singh Seechewal also shared pictures of the foundation stone ceremony. He wrote, "The dream of the people of the area to release clean water in the Chitti Bein has come true, the foundation stone of the regulator project to release 200 cusecs of water in the Chitti Bein, which is the lifeline of the Doab, was laid at Simbli village in Garhshankar". He said that with the release of water in Chitti Bein, there will be a big improvement in the underground water of the Doab and at the same time it will also bring great relief to the people of the area.
