The Government agencies and private millers have procured 93344 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 6. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 93344 MT of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 84404 MT of paddy while 8940 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 23193 tonnes, MARKFED procured 23065 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 18692 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 9526 and 9872 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has also started the operation and has procured 56MT paddy.
