New Update from Pong Dam Today: In a latest development from Pong Dam, 40,000 cusecs of water have been released into the Beas River through the spillway gates after 6 AM on Thursday.
The spillway gates of Pong Dam have been raised by 2 feet.
The devastation caused by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh is visible at Pong Dam, as destruction in forest areas due to cloudbursts is evident. A large quantity of wood debris from the forests is being swept into the Beas River.
Additionally, BBMB (Bhakra Beas Management Board) has kept the civil administration on alert so that any emergency can be dealt with promptly.
