Coronavirus Punjab Death, Covid-19 Latest News Update Today: Punjab has reported its second death due to COVID-19 in the ongoing wave, as a 69-year-old woman from Ludhiana passed away after being infected by the virus. The incident has raised concerns among state health officials as the number of cases climbs steadily.

The deceased, who had pre-existing health issues, reportedly developed severe respiratory symptoms and was admitted to a local hospital earlier this week. Despite efforts, she could not be saved, making her the second COVID fatality in the state since the recent re-emergence of the virus.

The total number of confirmed cases in Punjab has now reached 21, with health authorities closely monitoring the situation. Experts have warned that while the numbers remain manageable, complacency could prove dangerous.

Officials are emphasizing mask usage in public places, particularly in hospitals and senior citizen facilities, along with urging citizens to get booster vaccine doses if eligible.

The state government is reportedly considering the reactivation of COVID monitoring cells at the district level to prevent any large-scale outbreak. Meanwhile, Ludhiana’s local administration has begun contact tracing and sanitization drives in high-risk zones.
