Blast near Police Post in Punjab: Babbar Khalsa Claims Responsibility, Search Operation Ongoing, Latest News: A loud, explosion-like sound was heard late on Sunday night near the Qila Lal Singh Police Station in Batala, Punjab. A search operation was launched on Monday morning, but officials have yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
According to babushashi, the sound was heard from the opposite side of a canal, in front of the police post. There are no reports of damage so far, but tensions continue to rise in the area.
The banned militant outfit Babbar Khalsa has allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post. The group stated that a rocket launcher was used in the assault, which targeted the area around the police station.
Militants identified as Happy Pachiya, Mannu Agwan, and Gopi Nawanshahria have reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was a retaliatory act for the deaths of Sikh individuals in previous encounters in Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh) and Batala.
Babbar Khalsa was officially banned by the Indian government in 1989. The group is recognized as a terrorist organization by the Indian government, as well as by several countries, including the United States and Canada.
