Punjab government issues guidelines for opening of malls, restaurants from June 8

Under Unlock 1.0, malls, hotels, restaurants and places of worship have been allowed to open across the country from June 8.

Chandigarh: Under Unlock 1.0, malls, hotels, restaurants and places of worship have been allowed to open across the country from June 8.

Work is underway to clean up malls, hotels and restaurants and manage social distances after receiving a waiver from the Home Ministry. The Punjab Government has issued new guidelines for easing the lockdown from June 8.

MallsMalls The new guidelines of the Punjab government allow the opening of restaurants, but no one will be able to sit and eat there. As per the new guideline of the government, all religious places in Punjab would be allowed to open from Monday.

Temples, gurudwaras and churches can be opened from 5 am to 8 pm. At a time, only 20 people will gather at places of worship. Special attention should be paid to social distances in shopping malls.

People will not be able to sit in the restaurants and food corners in the mall. Lifts in the mall can only be operated for medical emergencies or the disabled. Escalators also have to follow social distances.

File PhotoFile Photo The trial room will not be used in clothing stores in the mall. Simultaneously, the hotel and hospitality industry would be reopened in Punjab from June 8. Hotel guests will be served food in their rooms.

The hotels will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Preparations have been completed to open malls, restaurants and religious places in the country from June 8 under Unlock-1. Sanitation work is underway at a mall in Chandigarh.

The Punjab Government has issued new guidelines before the waiver in Unlock 1.0 from June 8. However, the government has made it clear that it will have a review on June 15 and may withdraw its decision if the situation appears to be deteriorating.
