Navjot Kaur Sidhu To Contest 2027 Punjab Assembly Elections Latest News: Navjot Kaur Sidhu To Contest 2027 Punjab Assembly Elections Latest News: Senior Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has officially declared her intent to contest the Punjab Assembly Elections in 2027, saying that she has already begun preparations and is actively reconnecting with party workers and constituents.
During her visit to Tilak Nagar in Amritsar, Dr. Sidhu met with Congress workers, urging them to rejoin the party and gear up for future electoral battles. Speaking to the media, she made it clear that she is determined to reclaim her constituency and promised a strong comeback. “I am meeting workers, preparing ground-level strategies, and I will definitely win in 2027,” she said.
Addressing speculation around her husband, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and his absence from the Ludhiana bypoll campaign, she clarified that his name has not been removed. “He had signed an IPL agreement, but he is fully committed to the election campaign and has prepared a detailed strategy for it, including where and when he will campaign.”
Dr. Sidhu launched a scathing attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, accusing it of making hollow promises and failing to address key issues. “People are unhappy with the AAP. Not a single rupee has been spent on development in my constituency, and the government has failed to deliver on its commitments, especially on employment and drug abuse,” she said.
She particularly emphasized the worsening drug crisis in Punjab, alleging that the government is only targeting petty offenders while the main culprits roam free. “The drug problem will not end until the big crocodiles are caught. You cannot clean the system by going after small people. Seal the borders of Punjab, and you might see some real change.”
Campaigning for Ludhiana Bypoll: Navjot Kaur Sidhu also confirmed that she will be actively participating in the Ludhiana by-election campaign, lending her support to the Congress party’s efforts to regain lost ground in the region.
She concluded her interaction by reiterating her commitment to public service and said that the people of Punjab deserve better governance, adding, “Our fight is for the youth, for jobs, and for a drug-free Punjab.”
