The media fraternity of Chandigarh has staged a dharna to protest the attack on senior journalist Satendra Chauhan, outside Punjab Bhavan

Chandigarh: The media fraternity of Chandigarh has staged a dharna to protest the attack on senior journalist Satendra Chauhan, outside Punjab Bhavan in Sector 3.

Aaj Tak’s journalist Satender Chauhan got seriously injured on Wednesday when he along with other media members were covering the agitation led by the Punjab Youth Congress president Birender Singh Dhillon. While on the way to ‘gherao’ the Haryana chief minister’s residence, some of the Congress youth workers started pelting stones on the electronic media, who were at the other corner of the road for the coverage.

All the media employees belonging to various organizations are raising slogans against Youth Congress. The media group has earlier planned to stage a dharna outside CM’s residence but they were stopped by the police. The Chandigarh media is demanding FIR against youth workers who pelted stones on the electronic media and also against Punjab Youth Congress president Birender Singh.

Earlier, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal have also condemned the attack. The Chandigarh Press Club has demanded strict action against the culprits.
