Chandigarh, January 3: The Town Planners from across the country would gather at Chandigarh for three days from 4th to 6th January 2019 for the 67th National Town & Country Planners Congress. Disclosing this here today during the press conference Mr Prof. Dr D.S. Meshram  President, ITPI said that the experts and professionals from various parts of the country will deliberate the various issues concerning “Urban Land Policies and City Planning” and share their experiences specifically

the successful stories during the three days Congress. He said that failure stories would also be shared, to understand as to why these challenges are occurring so as to take proper precautions while adopting the various technological innovations. Dr Meshram disclosed that Shri. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab would inaugurate Congress and deliver the inaugural address on 4th January 2019.

Mr Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Rural Development and Panchayats, Government of would be Guest of Honour along with Ms Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary Department of Housing and Urban Development Punjab, during the Inaugural Session will address the delegates.

After the inaugural session, Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development Minister Punjab would inaugurate an exhibition which is the special attraction of the event. Dr Meshram further said that Shri. Vijay Inder Singla Minster for Public Works and Information & Technology would preside over the Plenary Session on the theme ‘Urban Land Policies & City Planning’ which would be held after the inaugural session from 12.30PM to 2.00 PM.

On the first day Workshop on ‘Policy for Industrial Development’ would be held during which Shri. Charanjit Singh Channi Minister for Technical Education & Industrial Training and Employment Generation would be chief Guest. On the second day of the Congress on 5th January, Morning session Workshop would be on ‘Land Procurement Methods & Redevelopment’ during which Revenue Minister, Shri. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria would be the chief guest.

Afternoon Session would be held on ‘Land Acquisition & Assembly (Local Sub Theme)  during which Shri. O.P Soni Minister for School Education & Freedom Fighters would be Chief Guest Shri Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Minister for Cooperation and Jails, Government of Punjab will be the Chief Guest during the Valedictory Session and deliver the Valedictory Address on 5th January 2019. 

Dr Meshram said that on the third concluding day of the congress delegates would have field visits. Others prominent present during the press conference included Shri. Pradeep Kapoor Secretary-General, ITPI, Shri Gurpreet Singh, Vice President ITPI
