CHANDIGARH: In a significant development aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of administrative processes, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a major announcement concerning Patwaris. The Punjab government has approved the recruitment of 586 new Patwaris, and these appointments will be strictly merit-based.

This Announcement comes in response to recent strikes by Patwaris, and it underscores the government's commitment to addressing the concerns of its employees while ensuring the seamless functioning of administrative tasks across the state.

As part of this initiative, the newly appointed 710 Patwaris will receive their appointment letters in the near future, marking a significant step towards reinforcing the state's administrative workforce. Additionally, 741 Patwaris currently undergoing training will be deployed to various field assignments, further bolstering the government's administrative capabilities.

One of the notable changes announced by CM Mann is the implementation of a biometric attendance system for Patwaris. This innovation aims to ensure 100 percent attendance and punctuality among Patwaris, responding to persistent complaints of absenteeism in the past. A formal notification detailing the implementation of this biometric system will be issued shortly.

Addressing the citizens of Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to providing efficient and trouble-free services in tehsils and patwarkhanas. This move is part of the government's broader efforts to streamline administrative procedures and deliver prompt and transparent services to the people of Punjab.
