Unveiling of new schemes in agriculture, health and education sector and its fund proposals

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema will present the Punjab budget 2023-24 on March 10 (Friday) and the session will continue till March 24. The Punjab Cabinet-led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will present the Budget estimates of the state for 2023-24 financial year on March 3. 

Notably, The State Budget 2023-24 will be a roller coaster ride for the government as schemes fund will be proposed amidst lessened revenue in Punjab.

As per the media reports, following are some key points which are likely to be included in the Budget.....

-- Unveiling of new schemes in agriculture, health and education sector and its fund proposals.

-- Proposals for the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics, building schools of eminence and crop diversification.

-- Focus Likely to point out on the impact of the Aam Aadmi Party’s scheme of 300 units of free power to domestic consumers.

-- Announcement of Minimum support price for some crops like potato, tomato, cauliflower and others.

-- Revealing schemes for the development of health, infrastructure and sanitation sectors.

It is worth noting here that the main concern of the state government is to ensure a regular and direct revenue through tax and non-tax resources. As per the sources, without creating any other regular revenue, the expenditure is likely to increase in the future.
