Amritsar's Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport will be connected to Toronto

AMRITSAR: In a major relief for the Punjabi immigrants, Italy's NEOS Airlines is going to connect Amritsar to Canada's Toronto and America's New York via Milan's Malpensa Airport from April 6, 2023. Amritsar's Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport will be connected to Toronto. This will ease the hardships for a large number of Punjabis who live in Canada and America.

Amritsar Vikas Manch Overseas Secretary Sameep Singh Gumtala said, Neos Air started scheduled flights between Milan Malpensa and Amritsar in December 2022. The airline started operating charter services between Italy and Amritsar in September 2021 for the first time during Covid. SpiceJet also started scheduled flights from Amritsar to Milan's Bergamo and Rome airports in November last year after operating charter flights. With their operation, Amritsar is now connected with a total three airports in Italy.

According to the schedule available by Neos on its website, the airline will operate one flight a week from Amritsar to Toronto and New York from April 6. This flight will depart from Amritsar every Thursday at 3:15 AM and reach Milan at 8:20 AM on the same day. Passengers will stay here for approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes, then the flight will depart from Milan at 12:30 PM and arrive in Toronto at 3 PM.

The return flight from Toronto's Pearson Airport will then depart every Thursday at 5:00 PM and arrive in Milan at 6:50 AM the following Friday. It will departat 10 am and reach Amritsar at 9:15 pm on the same day. Passengers will stop at Milan for 3 hours and 10 minutes. The journey from Toronto to Amritsar will take only 18 hours 45 minutes and the distance from Amritsar to Toronto will be completed in 21 hours 15 minutes. The airline will use its 359-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for these flights.
