Punjab State Election Commission today announced the schedule for preparation of electoral rolls for Municipal Elections including

Chandigarh: Punjab State Election Commission today announced the schedule for preparation of electoral rolls for Municipal Elections including 9 Municipal Corporation, 109 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.  

Disclosing this here today State Election Commissioner Jagpal Singh Sandhu informed that the Commission is planning to conduct General/Bye Elections of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats early next year. Electoral rolls are to be prepared with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date in this regard.

Election Commission of IndiaElection Commission of IndiaSandhu said that as per program announced preparation of Electoral Rolls made up to December 9, 2020 and Draft Publication of electoral rolls will be made on December 10, 2020.

He further said that last date for filing claims and objections is December 16, 2020 and all objections & claims will be disposed by December 23, 2020. The date of final publication of electoral rolls is January 05, 2021.
