Sohan Singh Thandal Joins BJP Punjab Chabbewal By-Election 2024 Latest News: In a significant political shift, senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former minister Sohan Singh Thandal has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Thandal made the announcement in the presence of BJP's Punjab in-charge, Vijay Rupani, at a ceremony in Hoshiarpur today. His son, Ravinder Thandal, also joined the BJP, marking a major familial and political move.

Sources suggest that Sohan Singh Thandal is expected to be the BJP's candidate for the upcoming by-election from Chabbewal, a key constituency in Punjab. Thandal, a seasoned politician, has been a prominent figure in state politics and served as a cabinet minister during his tenure with the SAD.

In addition to his candidacy, Thandal is reportedly being considered for a significant national role as Vice Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes. 

Thandal's switch to the BJP comes at a critical time for Punjab politics, where the BJP is looking to expand its base and strengthen its position in the state ahead of upcoming elections.
