BREAKING: SAD Decides Not to Contest Punjab By-Elections 2024

This decision follows a series of electoral setbacks for the SAD

Punjab By Elections 2024 Latest News Today: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has officially declared that it will not be contesting the upcoming Punjab by-elections 2024. This decision was taken during the meeting of party's working committee.

The move comes as a strategic decision by the SAD leadership, which aims to focus on rebuilding the party’s strength and concentrating on future political battles. Senior party leaders have expressed that this decision aligns with their long-term goals of revamping the organizational structure and preparing for the forthcoming state assembly elections.

This decision follows a series of electoral setbacks for the SAD, including a decline in voter support in recent years. Political analysts believe that this move could also signal the party’s intention to recalibrate its strategy ahead of major elections in the state.

While the Akali Dal has opted out of the by-polls, it remains to be seen how this decision will affect the overall political landscape in Punjab. The by-elections will proceed with other political parties, including the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), contesting for seats in key constituencies.
