Delhi Liqour Policy Case, Arvind Kejriwal’s Custody extended news: In a major development, the Delhi Court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till July 3. 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody on 21 March 2024 at approximately 9:00 pm IST after ignoring nine summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) related to the Delhi liquor scam, making him the first sitting chief minister in Indian history to be arrested. 

Notably, the Supreme Court of India granted Kejriwal interim bail from 10 May to 1 June 2024 to allow him to campaign for the 2024 general election. Following the expiration of this bail, Kejriwal surrendered at Tihar Jail on 2 June 2024. 

Political rivals, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accused Kejriwal and his allies of selling liquor licenses and receiving kickbacks from private vendors. The ED claimed it had evidence of AAP receiving millions of dollars from a liquor group. Kejriwal was remanded until 28 March 2024 and remained in ED custody, with the Delhi High Court rejecting his petition against the arrest.

The new update from the Arvind Kejriwal’s Liquor Policy Case reported that Arvind Kejriwal's custody has now been extended till July 3, 2024.
