Rajasthan News: There were speculations that BJP may name a new CM for Rajasthan as well. 

Diya Kumari Education, Net Worth, Political Career, and Personal Life: After a big victory in the Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced Bhajan Lal Sharma as the Chief Minister of the state. In the meanwhile, five names — Vasundhra Raje, Diya Kumari, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Baba Balaknath — were coming forward for the post of Rajasthan CM. However, Bhajan Lal Sharma surprised everyone. (Who is Diya Kumari?) 

Just recently, the BJP party surprised everyone as they announced the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. BJP named Mohan Yadav as their Chief Minister, replacing the party veteran Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This led to speculations that BJP may name a new CM for Rajasthan as well. And it happened the same.

In the meanwhile, people on X (formerly known as Twitter) were supporting Diya Kumari for the post of Chief Minister. So, let's find out more about Diya Kumari. 

Who is Diya Kumari, whose name showed up for the Rajasthan CM post?  

Diya Kumari was born on January 30, 1971. She is a member of Parliament from Rajsamand parliamentary seat and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is the granddaughter of Man Singh II, the last ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Jaipur, during the British rule in India.

Diya Kumari Education:

She has done her schooling at Modern School (New Delhi), G.D. Somani Memorial School, Mumbai, and Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Jaipur. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art (Decorative Painting) and an Hon. Doctorate in Philosophy.

Diya Kumari Net Worth:

If reports are to be believed, Diya Kumari is a billionaire as she has been managing several properties, businesses, trusts, and schools, including the City Palace, Jaipur, which is also her residence; Jaigarh Fort, Amber. The two trusts include Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust, Jaipur, and the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust. The names of the schools include The Palace School and Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School. Likewise, she manages three hotels, namely Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur, Hotel Jaipur House at Mount Abu, and Hotel Lal Mahal Palace, Jaipur.

Diya Kumari Political career:

Diya Kumari joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on September 10, 2013, in the presence of the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, at a rally in Jaipur. Later, she contested the 2013 Rajasthan Assembly election as a BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur and became MLA after winning the seat. However, she did not contest the 2018 elections where BJP lost the battle. In 2019, she was elected as an MP to the Lok Sabha from Rajsamand as she secured 8.58 lakh votes with a victory margin of 5.51 lakh votes. 

Diya Kumari Personal life:

Notably, Diya Kumari has three children, two sons — Padmanabh Singh and Lakshraj Prakash Singh — and a daughter, Gauravi Kumari, from her marriage to Narendra Singh. However, the marriage ended in a divorce in December 2018.
