The situation in West Asia that has arisen from the Israeli-American attack on Iran is likely to have far-reaching effects.

The situation in West Asia that has arisen from the Israeli-American attack on Iran is likely to have far-reaching effects. The very next day (Saturday) after the Oman-mediated US-Iran talks in Geneva (Switzerland) were successful, Israel unleashed a barrage of missiles on the Iranian capital Tehran and some other areas, killing Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Defense Council Chairman Ali Shamkhani and dozens of other Iranian officials/politicians.

Iran's retaliatory missile and drone attacks have caused casualties and financial losses to five Israeli cities as well as US allies in the Middle East - Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Syria and Iraq. The temporary suspension of civilian flights across the airspace of West Asia has severely affected civil aviation services worldwide. As a result, thousands of passengers are stranded at various international airports. The worst economic impact has been on the crude oil business. With the prospects of an end to the war still dim, shipping in the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf is at a standstill, which has reduced the supply of crude petroleum to the rest of the world by 40 percent.

In fact, despite the long-winded claims of US President Donald Trump, the news of an Iranian missile hitting an American aircraft carrier and killing three sailors and injuring nine others has also created anger in the US against Trump's policies. All these developments make it clear that the current explosive situation in West Asia is creating instability and unrest across the world. India has also been directly affected by this as there are about 10 million Indians living in West Asia and this region is also India's largest trading partner. This is why the Indian financial market is dominated by anxiety.

There is anger among the people of most countries of the world against the US-Israeli attack on Iran. This anger is coming out in the form of protests and violent incidents as well. Despite this, most governments have adopted a cautious stance in words instead of directly condemning the US's tyranny. Even a powerful country like China is talking about prioritizing peace instead of directly criticizing the US; that too, forgetting that Iran had adopted a conciliatory stance in the Geneva talks, but instead of concluding a nuclear treaty with Iran on the basis of such conciliatory stance, the US President gave the green light to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to launch missiles at Iran.

The attack in Tehran was carried out on a government building in which Ayatollah Khamenei and more than 40 members of the Supreme Defense Council and officials were present. According to media reports, the US agency CIA provided clear intelligence for this attack to the Israeli Prime Minister and Netanyahu immediately put it into practice. President Trump claims that the US administration had received secret information that Iran was about to attack American assets immediately. This claim has been directly refuted by two officials of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) during their testimony before the US Congress (Parliament). It is clear that Trump had no intention of making peace with Iran. That is why he resorted to Netanyahu to carry out a preemptive strike.

Every country in the world knows that Israel and the US have blatantly violated international law. Both countries are notorious for their outright disregard for moral obligations or international law. Despite this, governments are reluctant to organize against the US under the guise of realism. Trump arrogantly claims that American interests are paramount for him, not international law. He has been blatantly implementing his plan to control all the world's resources of crude oil.

On the other hand, Netanyahu has been using the free weapons he received from America to expand the scope of Israeli aggression and also to prolong his rule. American duplicity is evident from the fact that on the one hand, Donald Trump never tires of claiming to liberate the Iranian people from the oppression and repression inflicted by Ayatollah Khamenei, but on the other hand, he is describing the deaths of over 900 Iranian civilians, including over 210 schoolgirls, in missile attacks as 'normal casualties'. No one can predict what the future of Iran will hold. Yes, world peace is certainly in jeopardy. The chances of its revival are also, for now, very slim.
