Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: Haryana voters are heading to the polls today, Saturday, October 5, as the state holds its single-phase Assembly election. Polling has commenced across all 90 constituencies, with voters casting their ballots between 7 am and 6 pm.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that exit poll results will be released only after 6:30 pm, ensuring the voting process remains free from external influence.
This election marks a significant political battle between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is seeking a third consecutive term, and the Congress, hoping to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiment. The contest is further intensified by the participation of other key players such as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), making for a multi-cornered fight.
In this election, 1,031 candidates are in the fray, a slight drop from the 1,169 who contested in 2019 and 1,351 in 2014.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini is contesting from Ladwa, while Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda represents Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Notable figures include INLD's Abhay Singh Chautala from Ellenabad, JJP's Dushyant Chautala from Uchana Kalan, and Congress’s Vinesh Phogat from Julana.
