Sheetal Angural resignation, Punjab latest news: Former Aam Aadmi Party leader Sheetal Angural, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party recently, has sought to withdraw his resignation as an MLA. He has written a letter to the Assembly Speaker regarding the same. After this, the Speaker called upon Angural on June 3.
A day after the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and two months after quitting as Jalandhar (West) MLA, former AAP leader Sheetal Angural requested the Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan to allow him to withdraw his resignation.
On March 27, Sheetal Angural joined the BJP along with Jalandhar MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, who had also resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Speaker Kultar Sandhwan confirmed that he had received a letter from Sheetal Angural and the decision will be taken later. As per the sources, the AAP would take a call on the development as the anti-defection law would come into effect with his resignation from the party.
Jalandhar witnessed a multi-cornered contest on June 1 among the Congress’s Charanjit Singh Channi, the BJP’s Sushil Kumar Rinku, the AAP’s Pawan Kumar Tinu and the SAD’s Mohinder Singh Kaypee.
While joining the BJP party, Sheetal Angural had said that he was tired of the AAP.
It is pertinent to mention that Sheetal Angural has been indulged in a lot of controversies. He had a lot of cases on him related to gambling, kidnapping, and wrongfully confining a minor. He was also booked under the Excise Act, Arms Act, and the IT Act in different police stations in Jalandhar and Dera Bassi.
