The mishap took place around 2 am on Saturday when three masked men first took the security guard captive and then tied the ATM with the Maruti car and managed to uproot it. They, however, failed to flee with the cash and fled the spot after the noise.

A quick response team of the Nalagarh police alerted all exit points and their grey car was intercepted at Dheerowal barrier where the miscreants tried to flee but the police fired at them killing one on the spot while two others were injured.
